One Clopay-specific gotcha: the factory cables on doors from 2015 and newer are cut to tighter tolerance than older models, which means a generic aftermarket cable that’s an eighth-inch too long will cause slack at the drum and uneven lift. Signs Your Clopay Cable & Drum Are Failing
